The New Jim Crow: A Community Review

A Community Review of the New Jim Crow: The Reality of Mass Incarceration is a forum co-hosted by the NYU Silver Undergraduate Student Government Association and the Educational Support Network. The forum will be a review and discussion of Michelle Alexander’s work, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness.
The purpose of this event is not only to share our experiences but also to also analyze the lessons, challenges, and changes that can be implemented through advocacy and policy to initiate change. This event is endorsed by Michelle Alexander and will be hosted by Dr. Robert Hawkins, Associate Dean of the Silver School of Social Work.
